You Have More in the Tank Than You Think
Welcome to a conversation I’ve been needing to have with myself… I hope it resonates with my fellow dream chasers.
Entrepreneurship is a wild ride. One moment, you’re on top of the world — sales are up, your team is thriving, and your vision feels clearer than ever. The next? Everything feels heavy, nothing seems to be working, and your inner critic starts whispering, “Maybe you just need a break.” Or maybe this is just me? (I seriously doubt it)
But here’s the truth I’ve found for myself:
I don’t always need rest — sometimes, I just need to revisit my vision and find some more resilience.
What feels like burnout is often just the emotional whiplash of building something meaningful… and THAT is something I’m positive we’re doing.
Emotional Fatigue Isn’t the Same as Physical Fatigue
There’s a difference between being physically worn out and being emotionally overwhelmed.
When you experience a rejection, a slow month, or a tough conversation, your nervous system gets overloaded. It’s easy to misread that tension and tell yourself,
“I’m just too tired. I need to stop.”
But ask yourself honestly:
Am I actually drained — or just disappointed?
Your body can keep going. Your mission is still calling. Your emotions just need recalibration.
Honor the Feeling — But Don’t Obey It
It’s okay to feel discouraged. You’re human. Entrepreneurship is supposed to stretch you.
But emotional discomfort isn’t a stop sign. It’s a signal to grow.
Think of high-performing athletes: they don’t walk off the field just because things aren’t going their way. They reset, refocus, and push forward.
You can too.
Sometimes the Cure Isn’t Rest — It’s Movement
Yes, rest matters — when it’s real rest. But often what you need is momentum:
A walk to clear your head
A workout to move the stress
A voice note to your mentor or a 9-1-1 text
A reset of your morning routine
A bold decision that shifts your energy
A new environment/shake up your normal scenery
You’d be shocked how powerful you feel when you act from commitment, not convenience. Earlier this week, Kyle and I decided we needed to take some time to look in the mirror (of our business, not an actual us in the mirror moment.. haha) but examine what is and isn’t going well this year. There are some things we’re celebrating, but some areas we still are growing in. We booked a hotel downtown & got real with each other and the vision for the business.
Being somewhere different brought: creativity, fun, and new perspective into our conversation and for that I’m so thankful! If you’re needing to shake things up, go to a new coffee shop, take a drive somewhere new, or book a staycation. You will NOT regret it.
You’re building your dream after all… now let’s go fight for it!
Final Reminder: Don’t Wait to Feel Ready
Your greatest breakthroughs won’t come when you feel the most motivated.
They’ll come when you don’t — but you move anyway.
You have more in the tank than you think.
So breathe. Shake it off. Refocus. And keep going.
